Achlachan Windfarm Mini Fund - Overview

The Halkirk and District Community Council receives an annual £3,000 Mini Fund from the Achlachan Windfarm, dedicated to supporting the local community. This fund focuses on distributing small grants (less than £300) to benefit young people, sports, education, and arts activities within the HDCC boundary.

Who Can Apply and What For?

Any individual living within the Halkirk and District Community Council area can apply, with no requirement for means assessment or matched funding. Funding is intended for initiatives such as youth, sports, education, and the arts that benefit the local community directly.

How to Apply for the Mini Fund

Applications must be submitted directly to the HDCC via letter. Please clearly include: the names of individuals or group who will benefit, a description of the activity, how the funding helps young people, amount requested, and any evidence of the activity (such as references or advertisements).

Application Review & Fund Distribution

Your application will be reviewed at the next regular HDCC meeting. In some cases, applicants may be invited to attend for further clarification. Decisions will be communicated by letter, and successful payments will be made by cheque. Written acknowledgment is necessary for record keeping and evidence of expenditure may be required.
